United Airlines' new Polaris Business Class seat is spectacular!
United Airlines Business Class (Polaris) images captured by Yasir Amin Hazrovi while flight from South America to North America.
Privacy, luxury and tranquility, who could ask for anything more on a transpacific 10-hour flight, from GRU to EWR? Well, actually do get more from United in the form of fine food and fantastic hospitably!
I was thrilled to finally have a chance to fly in this new seat - after waiting for so long. I had the pleasure of jetting off to Newark on one of United’s Boeing 777-300’s last night. Here’s a review of my experience
The interior of the business cabin is striking!
Dark blues punched up with creams, white marble and modern paneling. On top of this there is mood-lighting that changes throughout the flight. I noticed that the aisles are tight – but that’s because United wanted to maximize the footprint and space for their business class seat.
Within seconds of boarding, I was offered a choice of beverages. I went for the pre-departure Apple juice. As an added touch – United presents a chocolate box to each passenger in Polaris. Not all seats on the plane are created equal though. The even numbered window seats only have one window – and their seat is immediately next to the aisle (which = less privacy and more chance of getting bumped as people walk by).
If you're flying with a friend there are "duo" seats in the center. When looking at the seat map - pick locations where the tables are on the aisleto ensure you are next to you pal and have a chance to talk.
If you're flying solo and only center seats are left - pick ones where the tables are in the middle… you will barely notice the person next to you as they are about five feet away.
No matter what though – all seats on this jet are maxed out with features and amenities.
Each seat has a marble side table – which is perfect for cocktails and items needed during the flight. Next to the table is a ‘mini’ locker that comes equipped with a mirror. It’s a perfect place to stow your headset, eyeglasses, water bottle and anything you need to access during the flight.
There’s plenty of power outlets as well. One just above the table – and a USB one next to the extra-large video monitor. When it's time to sleep - the Polaris seats goes fully flat. This is a welcomed luxury on any long-haul flight.
United really goes all out with its Polaris bedding. They supply a mattress pad, duvet, blanket, and two pillows (a Sak's Fifth Avenue pillow and a cooling gel one)!
I had no problem drifting off to sleep as we jetted towards Newark NJ! United has embraced the collectable tin approach for their amenity kits. This is a step up from the cosmetic bag that most airlines hand out and I love them as they are great for storage at home.
Overall, it was such a nice experience in Business class of United Airlines (Polaris), have a look on the images…
